|Recommended: YesGood Value And Great Amenities — Apartments are very spacious and the amenities are awesome. Location and price of apartments are very good for the neighborhood.
|Recommended: YesIt Is Nice, Customer Service Is Weak. — Good sq footage for the city price, gym is large. Front desk personnel are extremely nice and helpful. Leasing office is below average significantly below average. Often do not return emails, and when they do they do not answer your question most of the time. They are nice but only moderately helpful in person. Maintenance of your apartment is great, maintenance of the rest of the building is average below average.
|Recommended: YesI Like The Location, Phase Two Building And Amenities. — It is extremely loud if you live on NY Ave due to car traffic, but otherwise no complaints so far.
|Recommended: YesNice — I think you need to check out the property first, but it seems nice
|Recommended: YesI Love It Here. — the best rooftop, and the very nice staffs from leasing office
|Recommended: YesGreat — live here
|Recommended: YesJust Moved In, So Far So Good — Great
|Recommended: YesNice, Beautiful Apartments — Apartment building has great amenities and nice apartments. The walls in the apartments appear to be quite thick. Although the walls between the apartments do not keep out all of the noise.
|Recommended: YesSo Far, So Good — The building is very nice, with good upkeep and a nice design. Some days I feel like I'm in a hotel, and I mean that as a compliment. The rooftop is gorgeous and well maintained. I think the policy not to bring wine bottle up to the non-poolside of the roof is a bit ridiculous for adults, but I get it.
I wish the building would have done a better job at sound-proofing for exterior noise, especially apartments that face the entrance to a major highway. Almost every night I have been awoken multiple times to motorcycle noise or large trucks hitting potholes and I'm a deep sleeper. It's amazing how much outside noise comes in. The paint job upon moving in was also a big lackluster. Otherwise I've been happy with the property.
|Recommended: YesBest Maintenance Crew — The maintence crew is amazing. They are very helpful and polite
|Recommended: YesVery Good Property. — Great property however maintenance takes too much time to get things done.
|Recommended: YesConvenient Downtown Location, Modern Amenities, Helpful Staff, And Good Value. — Phase II is the newer building and includes the gym if that is of importance to you. Phase I is older, but is still modern and has the pool on top of it. The rooftop is easy to reach from both buildings. Be sure to visit the apartments both during the week and on the weekends. Some units closer to New York Avenue may be noisier than you think. Overall, Meridian Mount Vernon Place has provided a pleasant living experience.
Note I ranked the parking as neutral' because we don't have a car and haven't used the parking garage yet. Also, I gave four stars for noise and by that I meant we don't hear our neighbors often, so noise has not been a problem to date.
|Recommended: NoThis Property Is Good But Needs Improvements — The rent is so high that my expectations for a high end community are legitimate
1 The dog park is atrocious. There are rocks everywhere that hold on to urine and feces and is unsanitary. Also there are an abundant amount of mosquitoes in the dog park as well When I reported the mosquito problem to the building, I was told that mosquitoes are just a part of living in DC. This was after I noticed mosquitoes in the lobby, in the parking garage, in the dog bathing area and even in my apartment on the 9th floor. By the way, I'm allergic to mosquito bites . The layout of it is not feasible for dogs to actually play. There is a bunch of unused space among that designated area. Simple turf would be more clean and easier to maintain.
2 The rooftop has a fire pit that hasn't worked for many months.
3 There should be recycle bins on each floor in the trash rooms, so people can recycle. In the loading dock, recyclables are mixed in with large trash items. Doesn't make sense.
4 There should be trash canisters on each floor by the elevators at minimum. With no where to put trash, people leave trash items everywhere. If you can't put on each floor, then put in the lobby.
5 The bicycle repair area is nice but the air pump does not work
6 The front door in the Phase 2 building took forever to repair. That's unacceptable for this style of building.
7 The shattered window in the dog park took forever to repair. Again, unacceptable.
8 I do appreciate the building management handling the uninvited guests in the building pool. However, there should be a more secure method to allowing people up in the building. On this note, what is the purpose of the call boxes I have been there over a year and have never used it nor have any of my guests.
9 Why was I required to purchase pool passes for guests which cost me 40 and was never asked to show the passes when I brought my guests on the weekend
10 The hired security appears to be more interested in socializing with the front desk rather than monitoring the safety of the grounds.
